Gesher Chai (Living Bridge)

Building meaningful relationships between British Columbia and Israel’s Galilee

People-to-people connection is one of the most powerful investments a community can make. Real relationships create understanding, strengthen identity, and transform Israel from an idea into something deeply personal. When students, educators, families, and peers build authentic connections with one another, geography fades and a shared sense of peoplehood grows stronger.

In partnership with P2G, Gesher Chai (“Living Bridge”) brings these connections to life by fostering meaningful, long-term relationships between communities in British Columbia and residents of Israel’s Galilee Panhandle. Through student exchanges, educator partnerships, shared learning, and cultural experiences, participants build lasting bonds rooted in mutual understanding, shared responsibility, and one collective Jewish story.

Through Gesher Chai, Israel is not distant or abstract, it is experienced through friendship, community, and ongoing connection.

King David High School & P2G

Through Partnership2Gether, students at King David High School build close relationships with Israeli students from their sister school in Israel’s north, Har Vagai. These connections often last well beyond graduation, offering young people a sense of shared identity and mutual support that continues through post-secondary studies and into adulthood.

Educator Conference in Israel

Every other year, educators from Vancouver and their partner schools in Israel come together for a joint conference hosted in Israel. The conference creates space for professional learning, exchange of ideas, and meaningful personal connections, strengthening collaboration and educational leadership across communities.

Hora Goel – Kiryat Shmona’s Folk Dance Group

Hora Goel, a folk dance group of Israeli teens from Kiryat Shmona, visits our community every second year to share Israeli dance and culture with local schools and organizations. The group also performs with Orr Chadash and Orr Atid at Festival Ha’Rikud and Yom Ha’atzmaut, celebrating connection through music, movement, and shared joy.
